Chandra Osborne local business owner and mother of two was born, raised and educated in Wanganui. Chandra's vision, ideas and energy are built around her experiences overseas with Royal New Zealand navy, interaction with community through her business Cleopatra's Nails, Beauty & Body Piercing since 2001, and work with youth as director of an annual event aimed at youth. Recognized as a leader at an early age Chandra was named Deputy Head Girl in 1997 at Wanganui City College. Chandra joined the Royal New Zealand navy as a Medic; she travelled to East Timor on a United Nations Peacekeeping mission with the New Zealand Army Forward Surgical Team. Returning from East Timor, Chandra took on the challenge of business by opening Cleopatra's Nails, Beauty & Body Piercing in 2001. The success of Cleopatra’s has created stable jobs within the Wanganui community. Chandra recognized the need for Wanganui youth to have available opportunities that were not available to her as a teenager. She was able to do this by organizing and directing the Miss Wanganui Pageant in 2008. As director of Miss Wanganui - Chandra has provided young Wanganui women with opportunities for travel and successful entrance into fashion and modeling internationally. Chandras passion and effective leadership qualities have seen her achieve her goals set over ten years ago, she is enjoying raising her children in Wanganui and is ready for new challenges. Chandra has been active in her Wanganui community and wants to continue to promote Wanganui internationally. Chandra is proud to call Wanganui home and wants to pass this passion onto her children and her community Wanganui.
